interesting for the arriving is, that the starting point of this route is at a highway-cross. the deal is that more or less all activist arriving in busses will be left there. and as there is no public service during this saturday - it will be very difficult to come from one start-point to the other.
which means also for acticists arriving saturday morning with the train in rostock - it will be very difficult to join the queer-block.

so, think about arriving earlier, helping setting up the camp, and going together to the demo.

Police Raids in Germany

on wednesday, the 9th of may, about 900 cops raided 40 places in germany (mainly hamburg, berlin, bremen). private flats, as well as social centres and bookshops were searched, computers and other stuff got confiscated.there are investigations on at least 18 persons on article 129a(founding a terrorist group).the "evidences" are rediculous, using this paragraph has always been used by the bka(higher police force) to be able to search and control on a big scale while 90% of the cases had been closed again in the past.
in the evening we had massive solidarity demonstrations with several thousands of people! the best thing to happen after such an intense repression.
while of course ther is some more work now, we will proceed on preparing the protest as usual-- actually feeling stronger than before!!!!

Queer Barrio Basics

These points are not rules set in stone, more tools to inspire and help us. They are the result of a workshop which took place at the preparation weekend in Berlin. There will be ongoing discussion anyway while the Barrio is up and running about how it should function.

MEETINGS:

Translation/interpreting: Before each meeting we should ask who needs translation.

Meetings should be once a day, and there should also be a daily information briefing on new situations as well as a notice board where new information can be posted.
There should be a time limit on meetings.
Ideally there should be two chair-persons with one person keeping a list of who is next to speak and seeing that agreed rules are stuck to (such as sign language).
For big meetings we may use the so-called “fish bowl” system; we divide into smaller groups for discussion then a “spokesperson” feeds back to the larger group. This can help people who feel uncomfortable in larger meetings the chance to voice their opinion. It can save also save time.

BARRIO STRUCTURE:

There will be a kitchen, an info point, a safe box, a first aid box, a meeting place, a relaxation area and a quiet space.

There will be around 8 roles on the barrio each day - jobs someone needs to be responsible for: 3 people for conflict-resolution, 2-4 people in the kitchen, 2 people for radio/telephone (if we decide to have one) and safe box.
We should also send 2 people to all meetings of the main camp and help with the main camp structure (sanitation, security, conflict-resolution, info point)

GENERALLY:
Form small affinity groups of 3-6 people within the barrio to look after each other. For demos and actions these groups are essential.
Bring energy and time to the camp!
Be prepared to take responsibility and take on shifts for as many roles as you can at the barrio.
People should also respect each other’s limits; different people have different skills and not everyone can do every task.
Be a part of a political camp, don’t just come here for a holiday.
Take responsibility for yourself and take initiatives.
If you do need to take a break, say this as soon as possible so that someone can take over the role.
People should be free to make constructive, helpful criticism, not expressed personally, and try to be open to criticism from others.

DRUGS:
Drugs and alcohol should be used responsibly. There should be at least one completely alcohol-free, drug-free space.

Be prepared to deal with all prejudices and discrimination including those based on class, sex, race, image, anti-Semitism, homophobia and trans-phobia.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION:
The conflict-resolution group should be different every day.
The group should consist of 3 people, suggested procedure is that one person acts as spokesperson for each “side” of the conflict and the third person mediates. Ideally these people should not be directly involved with the people having the conflict.

SPOKESPERSON FOR CRISIS-SUPPORT

There will be a crisis-support group within the main camp. Everyone should know where this is and escort people from their affinity group who are suffering trauma and crises there. If a group member cannot do this, the conflict-resolution team will take over.

Repression gegen G8 strukturen

Am Morgen des 9. Mai 07 hat die Bundesanwaltschaft begonnen, bundesweit 40 linke Projekte, Wohnungen und Arbeitsplätze zu durchsuchen. An der Aktion waren dem Onlinemagazin Spiegel zu Folge 800 Polizeibeamte beteiligt. Als Begründung wird der Verdacht auf die Gründung einer terroristischen Vereinignung nach §129 vorgebracht. Ziel dieser soll es sein, den Ablauf des G8-Gipfels in Heiligendamm mit Brandanschlägen zu stören. Der Durchsuchungsbeschluss benennt namentlich 17 Verdächtige.

Für heute Abend sind zahlreiche Solidemos geplant. (z.B. 20h Mariannenplatz, Berlin)

kommunizieren, absagen oder ersatz finden.

Alle sollen frei sein, hilfreiche, sachliche, nicht persönliche Kritik zu geben und wiederum offen sein die Kritik von anderen zu hören.

Drogen:
keine harten drogen in der zeit des camps. Verantworungsvoller alkohol,- jointgenuss möglich. Küche und ruhiger Ort sind drogenfrei.

Bereitschaft zur auseinandersetzung zu klassismus, sexismus, rasismus, antisemitismus,
homo-transphobie, bodyismus und allen anderen unterdrückungs- und ausgrenzungsformen

Konfliktlösungen
Da es keine feste gruppe jetzt für ein konfliktlösungsgruppe gibt sind alle aufgefordert ,täglich einen neue gruppe zu bilden. 3 leute bilden eine gruppe. Je eine person aus dieser gruppe hat kontakt zu den jeweiligen konfliktparteien. Die 3. Person hat möglichst keine direkte verbindung zu beiden konfliktparteien. Heraus aus diesen Positionen suchen wir zusammen nach Umfang und Lösungen.

Ansprechpartner_innen für krisensupport
Es gibt wahrscheinlich auf dem Gesamtcamp eine Traumasupportgruppe. Dorthin begleiten wir mensch. Alle sollten darauf achten, ob jemand in einer Krise ist. Wenn deine Bezugspersonen dir nicht weiterhelfen können, sprich die Konfliktlösungsgruppe an, sie begleiten dich dann zur Traumasupportgruppe.

PREPARATION WEEKEND 21/22 APRIL in Berlin

From the 2nd to the 10th of june 2007 there will be demonstrations and actions against the G8 summit taking place in and around Rostock and Heiligendam.

Queers from different movements, communities and countries are planing actions and a "queer barrio" (a queer neighbourhood) at one of the big resistance camps.

To prepare for this we are organizing a camp-preparation weekend (21/22 April). The plan is to practise how to live together, check our equipment, and have workshops and discussions about thing which important to us, such as: actions / how we live together in the barrio, camp / food-organization /communication/ legal information / making banners, costumes and things for actions etc

All interested queer people are welcome to join us on this weekend.

It will be at the Schwarzer Kanal, a truck site in the Michaelkirchstrasse 21, next to the Michaelkirchbrücke Bridge in Berlin Mitte U-bahn Heinrich-Heine.

Sicherheitskonzept der Polizei widerspricht Realitäten

Polizei erweitert Sicherheitszone

In einem zweiten Gespräch zwischen Aktiven der G8-Protest CampAG und Vertretern der Polizeieinheit KAVALA zum weitere Vorgehen bei der Suche nach Unterbringungsmöglichkeiten für Globalisierungskritiker während des G8-Gipfels in Heiligendamm, eröffnete die Polizei ihre Vorstellungen zur Erweiterung der Sicherheitszone über den Sperrzaun hinaus.

Nach den Aussagen der Polizei in der Beratung sollen Proteste in einem um ca. 5 bis 10 Kilometer “erweiterten Maßnahmenraum” um den Zaun herum während des Gipfels “unmöglich” sein.

Als “unproblematisch” wurden Aktionen und Camps von Globalisierungskritikern gesehen, die im Bereich westlich einer Linie von Reddelich, Steffenshagen, Wittenbeck, Kühlungsborn (diese Gemeinden befinden sich innenliegend des Maßnahmenraumes), südlich eines Bogens um Bad Doberan (Reddelich, Hohenfelde innenliegend und Bargeshagen außenliegend) sowie bis zur Stadtgrenze von Rostock südlich der Bundesstraße 105 bezeichnet. Als für Proteste und Camps unmöglich wurde der Bereich östlich dieser Linie bis westlich der Linie Nienhagen (außenliegend), Rethwisch (innenliegend) und Bargeshagen (außenliegend) durch die Polizei gesehen. Die Fläche westlich dieser Linie bis zur Stadtgrenze Rostock wurde von der Polizei als “problematisch” angesehen.
Unakzeptable Sicherheitszone

Nach dem Gespräch erklärte Adolf Riekenberg für die CampAG: “Wir sind uns sicher, dass der Sicherheitsbereich für Bad Doberan noch geöffnet werden muß.”

“Das mit heißer Nadel gestrickte Sicherheitskonzept der Polizei widerspricht den zu erwartenden Realitäten des Protestes. Die Gipfelkritiker müssten mehrfach durch Passierpunkte der Sicherheitszone, um vom Camp zu den Orten des Protestes zu kommen.” erklärte Dieter Rahmann von der Camp AG. Die Gipfelkritiker seien so direkt möglicher Polizeiwillkür ausgesetzt. “Deswegen werden mögliche Campflächen im polizeilich unproblematischen Bereich vom Protest wahrscheinlich nicht angenommen werden.”

Monty Schädel, Geschäftsführer der Deutschen Friedensgesellschaft und Koordiniator im Rostocker Bündnis zur Vorbereitung der G8-Proteste, machte erneut deutlich, dass es nicht allein Aufgabe der G8-Protestorganisation ist, der demokratischen Meinungsäußerung auch Platz zu verschaffen. “Immer neuen gesperrten Bereichen werden nicht dazu beitragen, dass weniger Menschen zum Protest nach Mecklenburg-Vorpommern kommen, sondern nur dazu dass er sich unorganisiert äußert und sich seine Plätze selbst sucht.” Es beleibt offen, wie die Polizei und Verwaltung die Problem nicht angenommener möglicher Campbereiche lösen wollen.

Die G8-Protestvorbereitung benötigt nach eigenen Planungen für die Zeit des Protestes vom 01. bis zum 08. Juni 2007 Unterbringungsmöglichkeiten für ca. 15.000 Teilnehmende die über die gesamte Zeit anwesend sein könnten. Außerdem sollen in den Camps Gesprächs- und Kulturveranstaltungen stattfinden, bei denen sich die Protestteilnehmenden, aber auch Einwohner der Region und Gäste, über die Folgen der Globalisierung verständigen und Alternativen diskutieren können.

Komið og takið þátt í andófi gegn G8 fundinum í norður Þýskalandi 7 - 9 júní. Sem stendur eru uppi hugmyndir um að setja á fót barríó (tjaldþyrpingu) í stóru mótmælendabúðunum sem settar verða upp.

Þaðan verða svo skipulagðar mótmælaaðgerðir sem taka mið af queer sýnileika.

Til stendur að setja á fót vikulangar þjálfunarbúðir í Berlín fyrir fundinn sem fæli í sér meðal annars vinnustofur og queer performans kvöld. Þessi síða verður uppfærð reglulega, tékkið á henni með jöfnu millibili.

G8 x queerer Widerstand 2007 - Deutschland

Sei willkommen dich am verqueeren des Widerstands gegen den G8-Gipfel in Norddeutschland von 7-9 Juni 2007 zu beteiligen. Im Moment gibt es Ideen ein "barrio" innerhalb des großen Anti-G8-Camp in der Nähe von Rostock zu organisieren. um das Camp mehr zum ...Camp zu machen.
Solch ein queerer Raum soll die Grundlage schaffen, gemeinsam als ein sichtbarer queerer Block an Demos teilzunehmen und Aktionen zu organisieren.
Des weiteren gibt es die Idee eine Vorbereitungswoche mit Workshops, Aktionen und einer ..Queeren Performance Nacht" Ende Mai zu organisieren.Diese Website wird regelmäßig aktualisiert, also checkt immer mal wieder wie sich die Vorbereitungen entwickeln.

Die Berlin-Gruppe trifft sich an jedem 1. und 3. Sonntag um 18.00 im Bethanien, Mariannenplatz 2, Kreuzberg, Berlin.

G8X Queer Resistance 2007 Germany

Come and get involved in queering up the resistance to the G8 summit, in north Germany 7-9 June. Currently there are ideas for a ..barrio" within the large activists` camp near Rostock, to make the camp more ... camp.

From this base we can organize actions and take part in demonstrations as a visible queer bloc. There are also ideas to hold a preparation week in Berlin at the end of May, including workshops, actions and a queer performance night.This site will be updated regularly, so keep checking to see how the plans develop.

Venid e involucraos en queerizar la resistencia enla cumbre del G8 que tendrá lugar en el norte de Alemania del 7 al 9 de junio.Actualmente entre las proposiciones que hay se encuentra la idea hacer un ..barrio queer" dentro del campamento activista que habrá en Rostock,...para hacer del campamento..algo más...salvaje.

Iz ove baze mozemo da organizujemo akcije i ucestvujemo u demonstracijama kao vidljivi queer blok. Takodje, postoje ideje da se odrzi pripremna nedelja u Berlinu krajem maja, koja ce ukljuciti radionice, akcije i vece queer performansa.
